Information > Accreditation
Spectrum Plastics are the only UK encapsulation company to hold both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Certification
This is a globally-recognised certificate that demonstrates best practice in the application of quality management systems. Or, in other words, it shows that we care about our customers and the quality of our products.
To keep this accreditation we must constantly evaluate what we're doing and ask, 'how can we improve?' An ISO 9001:2000 management system should ensure that current and future customer expectation can be met and exceeded.
ISO 14001 - ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATION
Spectrum Plastics is committed to the environment and is proud to have successfully achieved this certification.
As a company we must demonstrate significant reductions in environmental impacts, costs and energy usage.
The aim of the Environmental Management System (EMS) is to prevent pollution, comply with legislation and continually improve environmental performance. It focuses on controlling environmental aspects or the way that products and services interact with the environment; for example, emissions to air, land or water.
To keep our ISO 14001 we must constantly evaluate our impact on the environment and ensure we're complying with the latest environmental guidelines.
To keep this accreditation we must adhere to eight key quality management principles:
- a customer-focused organisation
- leadership
- the involvement of people
- ensuring a process approach
- a systematic approach to management
- a factual approach to decision-making
- mutually beneficial supplier relations
- continuous improvement
Quality is at the heart of everything we do at Spectrum Plastics which is why we were so delighted to achieve the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
